Brief History.

Terex aims to produce goods of quality, synonymous with productivity, excellent return on investment and cost-effectiveness, as required by today's sophisticated clientele. Terex markets more than 50 diverse worldwide brands. They correspond to a wide range of equipment for many industries such as construction, infrastructure, quarrying activities, recycling, open -cast mining, shipping, transportation, refining, utility companies, and maintenance. Terex's aim is to provide reliable good value for money products and excellent producing equipment that enable its customers to make the most of the capital they have invested. Terex has expanded dramatically in recent years, largely due to a series of acquisitions and disposals based on the logic of expanding the range of products, improving geographic coverage and delivery value to Terex customers. Terex is building a franchise with the brand Terex. As part of this strategy, Terex is abandoning many of its products to the historical names of the brands, replacing it with the brand Terex. In some cases Terex uses both the historical name that the brand Terex used during the "transition period". Currently Terex products are marketed primarily under the brand Terex followed by the historical name of the brand, in some cases both Terex and the historical name are used contemporarily: Advance, American, American Truck Company, Amida, ATC, Atlas, Bartell, Bendini, Benford, Bid-Well, Canica, Cedarapids, CMI, CMI-Cifali, CMI Johnson-Ross, Comedil, Demag, ELJay, Fermec, Finlay, Franna, Fuchs, Genie, Hi-Ranger, Jaques, Load King, Morrison, O&K, Pegson, Peiner, Powerscreen, PPM, Reedrill, Schaeff, Simplicity, Standard Havens, Tatra, Telelect, TerexLift e Unit Rig.

1995: Terex acquired PPM Cranes.
1996: Terex sold Clark Material Handling.
1997: Terex acquired Simon-RO and Telelect. During this year, Terex also acquires BPI Handlers in Baraga (Michigan).
1998: Terex expanded to products for the mining operations after acquiring Payhauler and O & K Mining. Additionaly, the range of cranes in the product portfolio was expanded significantly with the acquisitions of American Crane, TerexLift, Peiner and Gru Comedil.
1999: Terex created the Light Construction division (lightweight machinery for construction) through the acquisitions of Amida, Benford and Bartell and become a leader in crushing and screening with the acquisitions of Cedarapids, Re-Tech, Powerscreen, BL Pegson and Finlay. Crane manufacturers Franna, Princeton and Kooi were acquired by Terex this year.
2000: Terex enters the Compact Equipment (compact machines) with the acquisitions of Fermec, a manufacturer of backhoe loaders with a shovel. Coleman Engineering is also acquired, resulting in strengthening of the Light Construction (Lightweight Machinery for construction). The Company sells Moffett, Princeton and Kooi.
2002: A series of acquisitions Terex helped to position themselves as leaders in their respective categories. The acquisition of Demag completed the product range of Terex Cranes, making Terex a prominent supplier of cranes. Genie is a leading manufacturer of aerial work platforms. The acquisitions of German manufacturers Schaeff and Fuchs make Terex a leading Compact Equipment. After taking over Advance Mixer, Terex entered the field of concrete mixers. Finally, with the acquisitions of Pacific Utility and EPAC, Terex created its own distribution network for products of Terex Utilities.
2003: Terex acquired a controlling interest in TATRA, manufacturer of heavy duty on-road/off-road vehicles with commercial and military applications. The Company continued to expand its network of Terex Utilities distribution of its property, with the acquisition of Commercial Body and Combatel.
2004: Terex acquired Noble CE (now Terex Mexico), which builds high-capacity trucks for open-cast mining and manufactures components for other Terex business. Terex also acquired Reedrill, manufacturer of machinery for drilling surface used in mining, construction and utility companies.
